Trip to Galveston

Well this morning, Mike and I decided to take a trip to Galveston to check out the Silver Leaf Resort. We own a timeshare with their company, but we have never seen the resort on Galveston Island. It was a beautiful day, and the resort is awesome. It is worth the hour and a half drive from our house, and I am thinking we might try and make it down before our baby comes. We decided to go eat at The Rainforest Cafe, because it is one of our favorites. We went there twice on our honeymoon in Florida, because the Lava Nachos are so good. I wasn't feeling great on the drive down, but I thought it was because I hadn't eaten enough for breakfast. After touring the resort and getting some lunch, I felt terrible. My stomach was hurting so bad. We went for a walk on the beach, which I might add was a lot cleaner than I had heard, but we didn't get too far. I think Mike was planning on making a day of it, but after about 45 minutes I was ready to go. We really didn't plan well, because we didn't take swimsuits or chairs to sit in. If I had a chair and at least some shorts, I would have been much better. The ride home was bad, and Mike kept asking if we needed to go to the hospital. I hate the ER so I kept telling him no. My doctor did mention that if I started having bad abdominal pains I should call her, but I don't really know what is normal? By the time we got home, my feet were swollen and all I wanted to do was go to bed. After about a 2 hour nap, the pain was gone and my feet looked much better. I think it was indigestion. I don't think the Lava Nachos helped, but oh my gosh they were so good! I can't wait until next year when we can take McKenna to the beach. I grew up going to the Texas coast every summer, and although there are better beaches, nothing beats the wind, surf and fun we had in the water. I want her to be able to experience that also. Plus, the resort is so nice, that you really don't feel like it is only a short drive from home. I think we will need to start planning a weekend trip for this summer, and yes Deborah you can come with!
